February 6th should be a very large day. Not only does the new Bloc Party LP drop, but so too does the new Fall Out Boy record. Love 'em or hate 'em, the CD is destined to sell an infinite number of records. The first single has hit the airwaves and is entitled This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race.
Upon first listen it reminded me of a My Chemical Romance kind of tactic but with each listen it becomes more and more Fall Out Boy. It is different though, featuring a dance floor beat (even with a kick drum digital sample) and a hard, fast chorus. Patrick Stump's vocals are still the same and his enounciation hasn't improved either. The track has been described by bassist and lyricist Pete Wentz as "funk meats Take This To Your Grave" (the title of their first label LP).
Speaking of Pete Wentz, it seems that if somebody hates Fall Out Boy, he's the reason why. Whether it be naked pictures surfacing online, selling out, or his tough guy gimmick, he's undoubtedly a smart man. He's nuzzled up close to his label boss, Jay Z, and somehow got him to star on the opening track of their new album, Infinity On High. Perplexing but it's sure to pay off.
The tracks featured on Infinity On High are:
"Car Crash Hearts" (featuring Jay-Z)
"This Ain't A Scene, It's An Arms Race" (right click, save target as)
"The Carpal Tunnel of Love" (right click, save target as)
"Truth Hurts Worse"
"Law & Order"
"Thriller"
"Thanks for the Memories"
"Hum Hallelujah"

All titles except for the ones available are subject to change and only 10 tracks are listed so in all likelihood there should be more.
